music review::: clonedt ::: "7777777"
From Brazil, here's an amazing album of 7 tracks that each go for 7 minutes. I have previously described a track of clonedt's from a compilation CD as "a schizophrenic Kraftwerk on LSD". And that statement remains true here. If you dig Download, and Last Rites-era Skinny Puppy, then you'll love this. The tracks consist of occasional vocal verses interspersed with sounds that ricochet in all sorts of unexpected directions and adventures, then returning to the main themes. It's unpredictable yet still cohesive! There are many awesome sounds, riffs and beats on here. They pick you up like a tidal wave, transport you somewhere, then dump you down, only to be transported by another wave of sounds to another destination. Like a tornado through your subconscious - the substance of dreams! This is the kind of music that I've always dug and aspired to do myself - the sort of thing you can listen to over and over again and always hear new things. If you can imagine freaked out electro-industrial mixed with the ethos of wildly improvised jazz, then you might get pretty close to what this is. Available for $12 US from DSBP Records @ 237 Cagua NE Albuquerque, NM 87108, USA http://www.dsbp.cx E-mail: [email protected] ![]() |
