Organarchy Sound Systems ::: "Filthy Jabilucre"

electronica - doof - political

From the Organarchy sound collective comes this flowing collection of acid-doof-electronica overlaid with dialogue samples taken from protests and media events concerning the Jabiluka uranium mine. 11 tracks over 65 minutes. This was originally put together as a program for Radio JJJ's Saturday night mix up program - which is certainly heartening in these days of substanceless 'dunce' music. The title track features the protest chant "kakadu is sacred" mixed in over the top of doofy beats and acid squelching. My favourite track so far is "revolutionary dub technology".

There's also a mixture of Organarchy "B-sides" - all good! Overall an enjoyable and educational listen. Perhaps the only flaw is that some of the people sampled at the protests, while making good points, do so in a pretty emotional fashion! This is only a shame as some listeners may use that as an excuse to stop listening to the Cd - and they'll miss out. Also on here are several Non Bossy Posse tracks and John "badger" Jacobs classic "tofu". Buy it!

They've also got some other great comp CDs (actually they're much better listening-wise) like "BPM Conspiracies" which has 70 or so minutes of great cutting edge electronica with dabs of political commentary.
