music review:

La Funcion de Repulsa ::: "Homochip"

industrial-progressive-funk-rock

"The Function of Repulse" have been around for over 10 years, have released many underground cassettes and a few CDs. This CD was released in 1998. The styles include grungey industrial-rock, progressive fusion guitar rock through to experimental soundscapes, new classical e.b.m. and even some thrash metal. Strong influences seem to be groups like Ministry, Die Krupps and Front Line Assembly and perhaps even the funkier aspects of early Red Hot Chilli Peppers. The music consists of chunky guitars, bass, live drums, synths and aggro Spanish male vocals - often slightly distorted. My favourite track is the last one, hidden after several tracks of silence. 14 tracks spread over 63 minutes.
