music review:Various ::: "Last Call for Unity"hardcore - punk - grind - doom A great compilation of 34 Australian punk, hardcore-punk, folk-punk, doomcore, and one or two hardcore-techno and phased-indie bands. Unfortunately, there's too many bands here to go into details for each and every one. Basically, if you're into any of these genres, or even if you're only a little bit interested in it, or if you're just into full-on music of any style, then for the $8 price-tag this is a must have! This compilation absolutely craps over any corporate 'punk' (pop) band CD that would cost you $30. I've not been interested in punk or related genres for about 8 years because, basically, well, let's face it, the 'punk' that is promoted and is popular these days is truly teeny-bopping thoughtless fashion crap. (Actually, that's probably an accurate observation of the most pervasive elements of any genre). Anway, this CD (meaning many of the bands on it) has provoked in me a new interest in these styles of music. The bands included are: playground of hate, mope, infliction, peter penis & the transformers, nihilist, fat human filth, conation, mutiny, must kill bobby, meanderthal, ramraid, bigots, sonic emotion explosion, wiseacre, forced aggression, biceptasaurus, annoia, scrumfeeder, upsyndrome, psychotic lemmings, TUbBH, walsh street cop killers, godnose, vocabularinist, scuffy, mugshot, half mongrel, degrade, megadrive, scum of the earth, escape from toytown, scroungers, the unknown, pittbull attack.
