"... tweaky tech electro with a tasty twist of disco... satisfy your
cravings... "
From "Goth Nation" Magazine, issue 1, 2002, reviewed by Jay:
"This is a live recording from Canberra electro act E.L.F,
recorded at the 25th birthday celebrations of community radio 2XX.
And it's quite good. It's largely instrumental, and it's the sort
of release that is ideal for sitting down and listening to, rather
than jumping around all over the house. It's laid back. The first
track, "dance of the fluffy bugs"â is veeeeeeery disco.
Lots of hand claps and what sounds like a saxophone[!]. "A nice
walk in the park"â is a brilliant track. The sound of a voice
synthesiser describing his/her/its pleasant walk [right down to the
happiness of the small furry animals and the sun that was shining
-but not too hot] is quite imaginative. It uses loops of bird chirps
in ways that add to the percussive feel of the track, and the entire
musical backdrop seems to continually change in very subtle ways.
"The last march of the cyber-lemmings"â follows, and it's
8 minutes of space, with what sounds like birds chirping in the distance.
It's a very repetitive, hypnotic track. The final track, "the
bions" is an epic. The handclaps return en masse, and we are
treated to a track that has lots of bloops and bleeps and sweeping
synths which are reminiscent of some mid 80s electro.... Score: Lots
out of 10!"
