What does DJ Citizen sound like? Imagine a mixing pot
of dark and nasty electronics such as Speedy J, Ultraviolence, Scorn,
Black Lung and other such gritty and menacing techno-dance-floor destruction.
DJ Citizen has been involved with EYE, E.L.F. and the
Blatant Propaganda 'zine and label since their inceptions. He continuously
co-organised and DJ'd at various clubs in Canberra for 8 years (1992-2000),
plus a few one-off events since then, and has hosted numerous programmes
on Radio 2XX 98.3FM since 1993. He has been a devout propagandist since
1991.

REVIEWS:
From "Goth Nation" Magazine, issue 1, 2002, reviewed by Jay:
"... a fine release from Canberra's DJ Citizen."Never
B4 Have We Been So Contented"â kicks off this CD. Heaps of flanged
and cut-up, disassembled, distorted beats. If "contented"â
means dancing like a dickhead, then I guess I'm guilty as charged.
As an aside, my wife just came in as I was writing this and asked
me to turn it down because the neighbours might complain - so there's
your testimony, it must be a good CD. [So , of course I turned it
down, but as soon as she left I turned it back up again.] "One
Of Those Days"â is a slightly more laid back track. "Mass
Media Programming [of criminal behaviour]"â follows. Now I know
what was meant by the trip-hop reference. Trip-hop is not normally
my cup of tea, but this is still pretty cool. "SILA"â feels
like it's over before it's begun. Clocking in at slightly over two
minutes, it's fairly schizophrenic and feels like four or five songs
rather than one. "Another One Of Those Days"â rounds out
this 5-track CD. Though it's essentially a remix of the second track,
it builds on it such that there are no overt similarities, which is
always a healthy sign... 7.5 out of 10."
