Excerpts from an EYE interrogation in "the Aether Sanctum" web-zine issue #5 May 1997

A.S.: Tell me about EYE. Who is the band now?

EYE:

EYE is a really really good band which exists for the sole purpose of making us individually famous. The propaganda and politics of EYE is only a passing front which is used because it is presently fashionable. The members of EYE foresee the day when our names are household words, spoken by every person in every sentence in every language. EYE foresee a golden future where photos of EYE will be sprawled over every page of every newspaper and magazine on every coffee table. An age where every television and radio station will air 24 hour real-time coverage of the lives of EYE. An age where children can look up with holy wonder to behold our sacred images on billboards in every street. An age where every room in every building will be wallpapered with photos of EYE.

EYE acknowledge that fame is the only goal worth living for and that being famous will make us more important than the common mortal; that fame will give us the right to be pretentious and to say very self-indulgent and moronic things and be admired for this; that fame will give us the right to waste money in exorbitant self-flattering ways; that fame will make us morally and intellectually superior to others; that fame will permit us to use people for our own ends; that fame is the great healer of neuroses and provides everlasting happiness and wisdom to those great ones who achieve it, and an everlasting sense of inadequacy to those who do not have it.

And now for the great names, whose mere utterance cures every illness known to humankind, bestows upon the speaker instant enlightenment and 1990s magazine-cover plastic looks :-P on vocals, guitars, programming, chief composer and media spokesperson is J^#$&# M*^#* - which is me doing this interview. On bass guitar, occasional vocals and keyboards is G*&$54igj Eifbjri and on percussion and electronics EYE have *werik64 jfj894.

Won't it be wonderful, when the golden age described above has come to pass, and you will be able to say that you were the first person on your block, to have mentioned the names of EYE in every sentence you spoke?
