music reviews::: Audio Cephlon ::: "Audio Cephlon"electronica-ambienceAudio Cephlon is more proof that the (apparently) most-isolated-city-in-the-world, Perth, is a hotbed of some of the most interesting underground electronic music around. Fans of Black Dog, Autechre, Machine Paisley, Atom Heart and the like will love Audio Cephlon. Atmospheric acid ambient synths soar & simmer over quirky crunchy beats, that are influenced by jungle, trip-hop and drum & bass. This is a sonic meeting of organics and mechanics. This music conjures up dense pictures of nanomachines hustling and bustling, or cruising ever-so-mildly, going about their tasks amidst terrains of lush nature. Audio Cephlon matches anything from labels such as Warp Records: labels that release what could be described as intelligent listening electronica - music that is also often danceable, but not in the standard, and often boring, club-oriented way. This is a CDr promo release - but if you make contact you could probably fetch yourself a copy! I recommend that if you like the above-mentioned artists, then you'll be very glad to hear Audio Cephlon. 8 tracks span 44 minutes. You can make contact via E-mail: [email protected] |
